Gap made a dedicated app for their annual casting call contest. The idea is to make it simple to enter since there is a camera and all built into your phone and stuff.
Not that you won’t see this 1 Trillion Million times before this summer but these features should be duly noted.
I know what you’re saying, “Another Tower Defense style game for the iPhone, yea.” But hold on there! It’s got an awesome twist to it, it integrates with your Twitter followers, friends, and tweet count to enhance certain aspects of the gameplay.
AgencyNet’s new site may be a little gratuitous on the Flash side but does have some sweet little gems all over. One in particular is flying the Helicopter at the New York office with your iPhone. The level of detail across the site is pretty impressive so props to AgencyNet.

French company Parrot is debuting something unbelievably cool at CES 2010: a quadricopter that can be controlled by an iPhone or iPod touch! Called the AR.Drone, the copter boasts not only Wi-Fi (that’s how your iPhone can control it) but two cameras, so you can actually monitor the view from the cockpit on your iPhone.
Junaio launches augmented reality platform for the iPhone and the Web
Junaio aims to enable people to “bring the Internet to the real world” by providing them with a tool to add interactive notes, smileys, web links, rankings, imagery, virtual objects and even Twitter accounts to images of the real world around them. In addition, users can publish their custom augmented reality representations, edit those made by others and easily share the results on the junaio website or Facebook.

SnapTax from TurboTax makes 1040EZ even EZ-er by using the iPhone’s camera and some special OCR (optical character recognition) to populate your tax form. Just plain cool but only for Cali residents currently.

AugmentedID uses facial recognition and tracking technology from a company called Polar Rose. You first have to set up an Augmented ID account. Once that’s done, you can maintain different profiles for your public persona versus your private one, switching between them as desired. Each profile has associated with it your contact information, web links, and information about your social networking profiles. Another Augmented ID user could then aim their phone at you and Augmented ID would recognize who you were and show them the appropriate profile
The PUMA Index is a real stock ticker, with a twist. When the market goes down, the models’ clothes come off, all the way to their PUMA Bodywear. So if you lose your shirt, at least they do too. They even have an iPhone app that if shown to a store employee gets you 20% off your purchase.
