They submitted and won the patent for the billboards and signs that you see on Google Maps. So does that mean on Nashville’s streets someone can buy the ad space on the Titan’s stadium and put a message about the Colts?!
Google’s Local Business Center added a Twitter like feature to the mix to allow owners of business to post items of interest. You can also create coupons which work on mobile devices through the system. Example. Add this to their QR markers and things get awesome!

Lonely Planet has launched an Augmented Reality Android app for interactive travel planning. The app overlays icons over landmarks and sites of interest, and allows the user to set up a travel/tour itinerary.
Online and offline worlds collide. Get reviews from restaurants, etc. by scanning a code on the door of the establishment. Combined with this Facial Recognition I think Google might could go places in life. ;)
