Crowdsourcing strikes again! This is just a great use of Marketing dollars, $75k and prizes to be exact! LG could have spent that on a custom site promoting the EXACT same thing but they’re awarding it to smart and creative people with good ideas using Crowdspring.
OK Go showing why the work behind the work can be just as interesting as the work. After battling their music label over allowing them to make their videos embed-able, they’ve reproduced the original video (with sponsor) and are launching it tonight at 7pm EST. Props to the buildup generated around this one song. A touch of crowdsourcing in here too! UPDATE: Link to video “This Too Shall Pass - RGM version”
More crowdsourcing by CP&B with the latest Coke Zero and NCAA Department of Fannovation campaign. What I love about this is that they’re using Posterus and not hiding the fact. Note the project overview video on the right.
Mountain Dew is continuing it’s consumer-generated-agency quest. Product flavor, name, color, and packaging have been crowdsourced so far. The latest phase is a contest to see who gets to do the Advertising. BBDO helped mastermind this btw.
Victors and Spoils is a ‘Catalyst of record’ *agency* based on crowdsourcing. Their only department is the Creative Department, which actually makes a lot of sense. You need smart people in-house who know their stuff and can help generate effectively brilliant ideas that can then be executed by those best suited. It’s not the cheapening of our craft, it’s the emphasis on the imaginative part of our craft. Do work son and may the best woman/man win!
