Yes, this is a commercial for oil. The thing that is awesome though, they built a clear 370Z to show it.
10,000 APPS?! ”In a needle-in-a-haystack situation, better to be the haystack,” said Josh Koppel, a founder of software developer ScrollMotion, which has created about 10,000 iPhone apps. (ScrollMotion developed Hearst’s Esquire magazine iPhone app.) via @ATLadman
Upsidedizzown! The Gap Store in Vancouver, BC was litterally flipped upside down for the launch of Sprize. Check out the timelapse vid. Another example of how capturing the process of the idea, will make the idea spread all the way to the Americas.
Panic, the guys who make one of my most beloved apps Transmit, built themselves an awesome self-contained web-enabled dashboard. Everything from Bus arrival feeds to champaign bottles appearing when all support emails have been addressed this thing is simple, beautiful, and sawwweeet!
AgencyNet’s new site may be a little gratuitous on the Flash side but does have some sweet little gems all over. One in particular is flying the Helicopter at the New York office with your iPhone. The level of detail across the site is pretty impressive so props to AgencyNet.
OK Go showing why the work behind the work can be just as interesting as the work. After battling their music label over allowing them to make their videos embed-able, they’ve reproduced the original video (with sponsor) and are launching it tonight at 7pm EST. Props to the buildup generated around this one song. A touch of crowdsourcing in here too! UPDATE: Link to video “This Too Shall Pass - RGM version”
You thought Earth was cool? Catch this! Microsoft is finally developing some software that outright is jaw dropping. Their map system integrates with the world by mapping out 3d perspectives similar to google street view, however, instead of riding around on top of a car you can actually fly around. Not only that but they have dude’s with cameras mounted on backpacks that are imaging insides of buildings!
More advertising?! Thought advertising on purchased mediums was sorta on the way out. Now Google ‘invents’ new ad space. They submitted and won the patent for the billboards and signs that you see on Google Maps. So does that mean on Nashville’s streets someone can buy the ad space on the Titan’s stadium and put a message about the Colts?!
